Webupdate 2 - Update your software online.

Paramet are pleased to announce the immediate availability of our brand new second generation Webupdate system. Webupdate 2 will enable your users to stay automatically updated with your latest software version and database.

Do you supply an electronic software catalog to your clients?

Do you regularly update prices, products or the program itself?

Then Webupdate is for you. Webupdate will compare all the files within a programs main directory (including sub directories), then only download and update the files which have been updated since Webupdate was last run. You can even use the service to deploy software to anyone connected to the Internet!

Features include:

• Ability to update through a proxy server, using HTTP and XML.
• Resumes if the client becomes disconnected or the update is cancelled.
• SQL server database creation and update support.
• COM Automation Server Client for tight introgration.
• Full SQL logging facilities to capture customer updates, allowing the generation of reports.
• Full compression support average ratio ~2:1

Webupdate 2 Client

The Webupdate 2 client is a small program that updates your configured software. It is written as an Automation Server that will allow you to easily provide update facilities in your own applications.You have two service options with Webupdate, they are as follows :

• You can subscribe to our Webupdate service, which will give you an FTP area to upload your updated files (1GB limit), clients are automatically updated through our servers.
• You can purchase a license to use the server application and install and maintain at a site of your choice. To allow customers to update their software online from your server, you must have a fast perminant connection to the Internet with a static IP address or dynamic IP with additional service from a dynamic dns provider such as DNS2GO from deerfield.

Webupdate 2 Server

The server is written as a plugin to IIS ASP.NET 1.1. It is based on industry standard XML web services. It includes user authentication and logging facilities. The server will automatically compress all files sent to clients, therefore saving on bandwidth and decreasing the time required to update.
